THE VALUE OF HAVING AN Abundance Mindset

Recently I had a coffee with a colleague from Uni (Alumni) and we were talking about mindsets. During the conversation, we started talking about fears, anxieties, and also what troubles us a lot. Whether it’s your first time searching for a job or your in-between jobs or you’ve been unemployed for a while trying to find a job. There is a fair bit of uncertainty that we experience in life across all different scenarios and especially when job hunting.
We both noted how important it was to have an abundance mindset as opposed to a scarcity mindset. So let’s explore the scarcity mindset first. Someone with a scarcity mindset will likely tell you something like “Oh no don’t leave your job, you won’t find anything better. It’s too risky to start a new venture. Don’t try something new, you will likely fail.” Or even worse your partner or spouse will leave you if you go bankrupt or become unemployed. Your kids will hate you, etc.” – Now granted these are some exaggerated examples, and yes sometimes these things do happen. However, they are quite unlikely.
The main thing to note is that the words coming out are from a scarce-based mind-frame for those who have a scarcity mindset. They tend to operate from a view that there is not enough in the world of whatever it is that they truly desire. They tend to think of the worst due to their scarcity mindset.
I’m not saying you need to be super positive all the time or not consider your risks, or do your due diligence. Quite the contrary. However, if you speak to someone with an abundance mindset, you will certainly notice the difference. They are more likely to tell you things that are in line with positive affirmations or have a positive can-do context. “The universe has your back. There are plenty of jobs out there, you just have to get your brand, name, XYZ out there. Develop your skills and show them what you got. They would be lucky to have you. You can do it. Why not start a new venture? What’s the best that can happen?”
Overall, people with scarcity mindsets tend to take fear-based action a lot more while people with abundance mindsets tend to like challenges, take calculated risks, and tend to be a lot happier in life. They tend to explore life in the fullest dimension due to having an abundance mindset.
So what are some things we can do to cultivate an abundance mindset?
